The Space
A network built on resonance, not extraction.
The Space is where FRQNCY Social comes out from behind the feed — the principles, the plan, the research, and the open questions. Think of it as the town hall of the network.
Principles
Portability first
Your posts, follows, and reputation belong to you. From day one you can export everything. By year two you can take it to another host.
No ads, ever
The business model is you paying us a little — not an advertiser paying us to extract from you. Written into the charter.
Calibrated conviction
Posts tagged to a project get a stance and a horizon. We resolve them. Reputation is earned by being right — scored with a Brier rule, not vibes.
Transparent ranking
The feed formula is public. You can see the weights. Later you'll be able to tune them. Algorithmic choice, not algorithmic lock-in.
Moderation as care
Automated first pass (Llama Guard 3), trust-levels, community mods per channel, blameless post-mortems when things break.
Farcaster / Nostr / ATProto
The destination is a protocol-native network. The route is AT Protocol as primary bridge, Farcaster as a crypto side-channel, Nostr as a read path.

Open Questions
A network gets built in conversation. Here are the questions we do not have clean answers to yet — and that the community can help shape.
-
1 · How does personal conviction live without becoming competition?
Tagging a post with a stance (bullish / neutral / bearish) is self-expression — it tells people where you stand. We removed the public leaderboard on cooperation-over-competition grounds. Open question: do people want a private journal of their own stances over time, or does any tracking drift back toward scoreboarding?
-
2 · Should private DMs go to the PDS or stay in Supabase forever?
ATProto has no mature DM Lexicon yet. Do we wait, ship a custom encrypted Lexicon, or accept that DMs are the one thing that never federates?
-
3 · What does a "channel" look like on ATProto?
Farcaster has channels. Bluesky has custom feeds and (coming) communities. FRQNCY's project-anchored rooms need a home somewhere in that spectrum.
-
4 · When (if ever) do we enable staked conviction markets?
The research says: only after a crypto-attorney review and likely a regulated intermediary. But the demand signal from users will shape how fast we pursue that review.
