Jerry Hicks worked as a businessman and, for a period, as a Dale Carnegie instructor before meeting Esther Hicks, with whom he began a decades-long collaboration centred on the material they came to call Abraham. Together they developed a body of teaching around the law of attraction, shaping it into a consistent framework of ideas through workshops and co-written books. His background in business and experience in structured public communication contributed to the way that material was organised and presented to wider audiences.
The books he and Esther co-authored — among them Ask and It Is Given, The Law of Attraction, and The Astonishing Power of Emotions — became the primary texts of the Abraham-Hicks canon. The material they produced served as a principal source for the film The Secret, which brought the law of attraction to a considerably wider public. The books were translated into multiple languages and continued to circulate well beyond their original publication dates, establishing a consistent reference point within self-development publishing.
Jerry Hicks died in 2011. Esther Hicks has continued the work since, maintaining the schedule of workshops and the publishing catalogue they built together across several decades of collaboration. The books — among them Ask and It Is Given and The Law of Attraction — remain in print in numerous languages, and the Abraham-Hicks organisation continues to operate through its website and live events. The body of material the two of them developed together remains the primary reference point for the teaching.
