Born 1972 in London, raised in Greece, educated at University College London. Early career in information security. Came to Bitcoin in 2012 and quickly became its clearest public educator — precisely because he was never a founder, never held a major stake, and therefore had no coin to sell.
Mastering Bitcoin (2014) and The Internet of Money (four volumes, 2016–2019) are still the canonical technical and philosophical introductions to the space. He has given hundreds of talks, most available free on YouTube.
In 2017 the community, learning that he had never enriched himself from his advocacy, crowdfunded him nearly 100 BTC in gratitude. He used a portion of it to continue educating full-time, and remains one of the most credible voices in a field full of incentive-distorted ones.
